Training
Group of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences
The expertise of the Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Group (RS) in Chemistry, Radiochemistry and Radiopharmacy and their facilities are being used to provide training Undergraduate, Graduate and Post-Graduate Students as well as to Physicians resident in Nuclear Medicine.
Graduation Students
- The RS Group collaborates in the Course Radiopharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon (IMI) and is responsible for the Course Radiopharmacy at the Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Lisboa (ESTSeL). Based on a protocol established between the RS/ITN and ESTSeL, students from this school, Nuclear Medicine Course, spend a semester in our laboratories doing experimental work related with Radiopharmaceuticals: synthesis, quality control and biological evaluation. Students from this school, during the last year of its graduation, did a research project under the supervision of the RS Group, resulting a thesis which is discussed and appreciated by researchers from RS Group and ESTSeL.
Post-Graduation
- The Group organized, teaches and coordinates the Master Course Biomedical Inorganic Chemistry: Diagnostic and Therapeutical Applications (DR nº 123, 26/05/04, II série). For such a Course the RS/ITN established a protocol with the University of Lisbon (Faculties of Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine), Hospital Garcia de Orta and Instituto Português de Oncologia Francisco Gentil/Lisboa.
- Is responsible for the Radiopharmacy Course in the Master Pharmaceutical and Therapeutical Chemistry organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy/University of Lisbon.
- Participates in the PhD Teaching Program/ITQB/UNL.
- Training of Physicians from different Hospitals resident in Nuclear Medicine (Portaria 555/2003, 11 June).
- Participates and is National Representative in the Radiopharmacy European Course, INSTN/Saclay, France.
- Is partner in the Action EC/COST RTDN, Virtual Radiopharmacy (VIRAD) and in the Co-Ordination Action on Education and Training in Radiochemistry.
Ciência Viva
- Collaborates in Ciência Viva, summer training of students from High School: "Radiopharmaceuticals for Molecular Imaging".
