In these laboratories organic compounds, inorganic and organometallic complexes of d- and f- transition elements are synthesized. The organic compounds synthesized are halogenated biologically active molecules and bifunctional chelators, with or without biologically active fragments, to prepare stable d- and f- transition metal complexes.
The halogenated compounds and the metal complexes are characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, mass spectrometry and HPLC. These compounds or complexes are used to identify the radioactive analogues synthesized in the laboratory for handling radioactive compounds.
