- 2001– PhD in Applied Nuclear Physics by the University of Lisbon.
- 1996– License Degree (5 years) in Technological Physics by the University of Lisbon.
Professional Employment Career
- 04/2004-02/2008 and since 08/2009 – Reactor Supervisor, ITN.
- Since 01/2002 – Auxiliary Researcher with the Operations Group of the Portuguese Research Reactor (RPI), ITN.
Previous Positions
- 03/2001-12/2001– Post-Doctorate fellow at the Nuclear and Technological Institute with a grant from the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (FCT).
- 09/1996-02/2001 – PhD work in the Nuclear and Technological Institute with a grant from the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (FCT). Ph.D. project entitled "Preparation of Metallic Silicides for Microelectronics Applications".
Main Scientific Area of Research
- As a member of the Operations Group of the Portuguese Research Reactor, she is involved in the activities pertaining to the safe operation of the reactor.
- Her current research interests are focused on Applied Nuclear Physics, namely neutron dosimetry, passive monochromators for neutron beams and use and production of Superheated Droplet Detectors (SDDs) for research.
- In collaboration with the physics department, she is active in Materials Science, namely thin film preparation via ion beam synthesis and ion beam analysis.
