Main Scientific Area of Research
-
The main scientific activity of Isabel Santos is in
inorganic and organometallic chemistry of d- and f-transition
metals and in radiochemistry. She has been studying mainly d- and
f-transition metal - based drugs potentially interesting for medical
applications, namely for diagnostic and/or therapy.
-
She is the leader of the Radiopharmaceutical Sciences Group, Unit of Chemistry Department, ITN.
-
She has mentored 6 Graduation Thesis, has supervised the
work of 6 BIC fellows, has mentored 1 Master student, and 6 PhD students and
has supervised the work of 6 Post-doctoral fellows.
-
She has organized, coordinates and teaches, in
collaboration with the University of Lisbon and some Hospitals of Lisbon, a
Master Course ″Biomedical Inorganic Chemistry: Diagnostic and
Therapeutical Applications″ (DR nº 123, 26/05/04, II série). First
Edition 2004-2005; Second Edition 2005/2006; Third Edition 2006/2007.
-
She has also organized some courses for Physicians
Resident in Nuclear Medicine, which are supported by her group (Portaria
55572003, 11 June).
-
Isabel Santos has also been invited for teaching in
Post-Graduation Courses organized by other Universities and Associated
Laboratories
