Main Scientific Areas of Research

  • The main activity of Dulce Belo in the last years has been the synthesis and characterization of new molecular materials. Her interests have been focused in the preparation of transition metal complexes, especially on those based on dithiothiophene ligands, and their use as building blocks for several new molecular conductors and magnets. She was also interested on the physical studies of electrical and magnetic properties of molecular materials, and particularly involved, in the characterization by single crystal X-ray diffraction as a crucial tool for the understanding of the physical properties and for the crystal engineering of these materials.
